The ANR-labeled UroDM project aims to highlight the clinical expertise of the UroCCR medico-scientific network's hospital teams. It achieves this by facilitating rapid access to clinical investigations and promoting the development of Medical Devices (MDs) in the fields of surgery and imaging.
UroDM is based on the establishment of a dedicated Medical Device Support Desk within the UroCCR network. This desk provides major support to companies, offering them access to a high-level, interdisciplinary scientific and medical environment.
The Call for Proposals entitled “Réseaux d’investigations cliniques, dispositifs médicaux et dispositifs médicaux de diagnostic in vitro”, issued as part of the France 2030 programme, is in line with the aim of producing at least 20 biomedicines in France, particularly for cancer and chronic diseases, and to develop and produce innovative medical devices.
The French National Research Network on Kidney Cancer is a multidisciplinary national medico-scientific network for therapeutic care and applied research on kidney cancer, bringing together more than sixty centres. It represents a major asset for carrying out epidemiological, observational, interventional or translational (biological and technological) research projects and for the prospective evaluation of healthcare practices.
UroDM aims to complement expertise in the field of medical devices (MD) by capitalising on the UroCCR Network to enable the creation of a specific qualified network focused on MDs for kidney cancer to promote clinical investigations and the development of MDs in the fields of surgery and imaging.
This project, carried out by Professor Jean-Christophe Bernhard and coordinated by the Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, was submitted to the "Réseaux d’Investigations Cliniques, Dispositifs Médicaux et Dispositifs Médicaux de Diagnostic In Vitro" Call for Proposals. The consortium also includes the University of Bordeaux (a higher education and research institution); three other hospitals—Angers University Hospital Centre, Caen University Hospital Centre, and the AP-HM; the SATT Aquitaine company; and two associated partners, ALPHA-RLH and ALLIS-NA.
Consortium
Integrated into the current governance structure of the UroCCR network, it is the fourth UroCCR governance body responsible for supporting teams working on medical device projects.
